Our Mission
At STAT Transport, our Mission is to provide quality non-emergent medical, and ADA accessible transportation services to the public and any individual with stable medical condition, disabilities, and impairments. STAT Transport strives to provide timely response, exceptional customer service, and dedicated, ongoing quality improvement to provide a safe infection-controlled mode of transportation.
About the Owner
Michael McConnell, is a servant leader at heart with a strong passion for community and for always doing what is right by his patients, clients, and employees. Michael has an Associates of Applied Science in Physical Therapist Assistant, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Management from Brown Mackie College in South Bend. His passion was fueled over 12 years ago when he first began his career working in healthcare and Physical Therapy. Michael used his experience and knowledge to provide a truly individualized patient experience. His focus was always devoted to his patient(s) and what they needed to do to successfully rehabilitate due to an injury or surgery. A firm believer in patient advocacy and rights, Michael sought to pursue his beliefs through different administrative roles outside of the therapy clinic to include, Director of Rehabilitation, Assistant Regional Rehabilitation Manager, Director of Business Development for a national contract therapy provider, and finally Chief Marketing Officer for a prominent Michiana, Inpatient-Rehabilitation Hospital.
Michael founded STAT Transport, in May of 2022, to address the growing need of wheelchair transportation in the Michiana community, and to redirect focus back to the patient and/or client. During his experience in healthcare, Michael quickly noticed that many organizations were losing their patient/client centered focus and were choosing instead to focus only on the bottom line. STAT Transport was founded to redirect this focus back to the patient/client, through the delivery of unsurpassed customer service and individualization.
Michael currently lives in Osceola, IN with his with Marilyn, and two beautiful 11- and 1-year old daughters in proximity to the St. Joseph River. Michael currently serves as the Vice President for a large networking, Non-profit organization called, Aging Connections. Aging Connections is a regional networking group that links communities and the services provided by medical and non-medical organizations that service our aging populations. Aging Connections consists of several groups and chapters in Michiana, Southwest Michigan, Northwest Indiana, and Fort Wayne, Indiana. Michael’s hobbies include kayaking, paintball, and spending time with family and friends.
